How to create a landscape at the core of a neighbourhood under construction, while providing an effective educational facility?

  • FIND OUT MORE

The density of the future neighbourhood means that it is organized on several levels. On the ground floor of the children’s centre is a creche, on the first floor a nursery school, on the second a primary school.
Each level is matched to the corresponding ages and uses, but also to specific timeframes in its lighting and spatial layout.
Each floor has its own terrace playgrounds, forming a sequence of pictorial landscapes in which Vassily Kandinsky’s birch forests meet the solid colours of David Hockney’s pools. It is a playful world for children to explore, made up of multiple colours, scents and shapes. Together they form a fifth landscape, a facade for the neighbourhood to enjoy.

The simple, straight and functional lines of the building enhance its urban character. They are enlivened by the abundant vegetation and enhanced by the multiform variations in the ground surface, which offer the promise of a plethora of games and discoveries. It is a place where the city and the world of childhood meet.
